The American Missing Pet Alert Service AKA (TheAMPAS) was created in 2013 as a resource to help locate missing and stolen pets by posting alerts and getting them circulating around social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. We believe that the more people who know about a missing pet the more likely the chances are at locating the pet and getting them returned safely. We also, want to educate the public on the growing problem with corrupt animal shelters, rescues, and animal control stealing pets to either turn and sell for profit or charge fines and threaten to kill pets if fees aren’t paid in full within a short time frame.

Our services are completely free to the public and all you have to do is submit your information using our “submit a missing/found pet” link here on our blog or contact us on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. Since we started this service in late 2013 we have helped locate many missing pets all across America, Canada, and the UK. Our focus area is in the United States but when we have the spare time we will help locate missing pets in other countries.

TheAMPAS is an advocate for missing/stolen pets, wolves, pit bulls, and is against anyone who harms animals.

Our guarantee is that our services will always be 100% free to the public.

Our Primary Service Areas

Want to Help?

We cannot spread the word about missing pets without the help of the public. If you are interested in helping spread the word about missing, stolen, or found pets in your area all you have to do is follow us on twitter and retweet any pet alert from your area. That one retweet could leed to it being found.

In addition to helping spread the word about missing pets we also need help locating information about missing pets. If you know someone who is trying to find their missing, found, or stolen pet please let us know so that we can post an alert.

Help fund our operations!

We do not currently accept financial donations but are in the process of setting up a way the public can make donations to help fund providing additional time and services. In addition, we are in the process of setting up a permanent domain name and will need help with funds for hosting and yearly domain name registration. If you are interested in making a financial donation to us please check back later. We will update this page when we have a donation site set up.

Message to our supporters!

I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time out to share a missing pets information, sign or share a petition, or made any other contribution that has helped us make the world a better place for animals. We greatly appreciate your help.

We are not associated with the WordPress page called theampas. On Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr we do go by TheAMPAS but by the time we switched from using Tumblr as our blog and joined WordPress someone had already taken our url so we go by missing pet alert here.
